Changes Ahead: 2027 for Bravo Steaks

There will be some changes to Bravo Steaks in 2027, and like many of the decisions we have made on the farm this year, they are a direct result of the extended 2026 drought. After 5+ straight months of extreme drought, we have had to be increasingly intentional about how we use hay, feed, pasture and cattle. The decisions made during drought don't just affect 2026. Beef cattle take a long time to grow (16-24 mo), so the constraints we are dealing with now in 2026 will carry into the beef supply we have available in 2027.

We are planning four big Bravo Steaks restocks next year: February, May, August & November. These will be the four times we offer and ship beef in 2027, giving you an opportunity to plan ahead to fill your freezer.  For our amazing Bravo customers who want to keep beef from our farm stocked and on hand, we recommend buying in larger orders or bulk orders during one of the restock dates.

There is certainly some hardship behind this decision. 2026 has been an exceptionally challenging year for farming, but there is also a great deal of intention behind how we are responding to it. We could try to maintain the same level of beef production by putting more money into cattle, hay hauled in from other states and purchased feed, but given the continued uncertainty around weather and the broader economy, that starts to push the limits of what makes sense for us in a year plagued by extreme drought.  

As a first generation farm, we have to be extra intentional with our resources. Adjusting our 2027 schedule gives us room to navigate that uncertainty, plan responsibly for our feed resources and protect the longterm health of our farm business.  Just as importantly, it allows us to keep beef, pork and lamb from Bravo Steaks as affordable as we reasonably can.
